MEMORY BEARS THE CHILD
The Duchess of Burgundy Departs From Her Body

Holy sleep, holy time!

Drive the carriage to the heart of the forest,
if you want an answer!

And the Duchess added:
When you become a body, you depart from your body.

She was sitting on her commode
and chatting to her ladies-in-waiting.

And she said:
the Duke’s sleep, let it be holy,
it mustn’t be disturbed!

For the Duke’s in the heart of the forest.
The light filters through the leaves, and the echo:

if you want an answer.

Relieved, she said:
The Duchess’s time is holy,
it mustn’t be wasted!

Before the fingers

The journey from teeth

A child is a house

Take the pole as it comes

The girl is so healthy that fever

this is my body

Rubs, licks, brushes

Before the fingers

If the wind cannot recall, can you

The chairs
