Books and People

October night.
October's dark night.
October's own dark night, one

of these lit by star-light,
in fact already put out. And we can see in this light

that in this light people and books
we can’t know, not really,
keep happening. Except for

their eyes that are looking at
that night, that light, that darkness, reminding us
that our plans won't come true, not really, meaning

that no one has put out that light, not really, and
that these two will always be alike in
that they too will always need two places.

42. you

45. A sliced guitar

46. From the temple of pain

66. I turn out the lights
