THE NOT-SO-ROSY FATE OF WOMAN
A Red-mouthed Bird

I give birth to a baby girl
that has to be fed.
I place the image of god at my left
breast, waiting for
the goldfinch to come. The baby sucks
half a breast inside her mouth and chews on
the nipple with her gums.

I remove the baby from the plug
to check whether I contain milk
or is it just wishful thinking.

The child’s open mouth is leaking
pale liquid. I’m proud and change
breasts like an accordionist.
The baby has a long adult nose,

which tells me it’s authentic.

When Smirnoff is finished

Truth or dare?

I am a bear and I am going to...

The lost sin

She named herself Thief

I want to turn

The critics, whose strong suit...

Long for the Diamond Merchant's...

End of the road

The return

Advance

Winter trees night trees grief...

Perspective

Bareheaded

Message

A witness

No passing

When I close my eyes

This city is a disease

The changes
